Games Cancelled (Oct 24/25, Oct 31/Nov 1)

This message is going out to all teams playing in the NPSL.

All games this weekend and the next weekend are cancelled.

Since our last message to you last week, the process to decide whether games are played each weekend has changed. Instead of checking the WA Covid Dashboard each Wednesday evening, the governor's office has changed the timing, and the dashboard should now be read on the 1st and 15th of each month. Depending on the Covid numbers on those days, the games either will or will not be played until the next reading. This allows 2 weeks from a high number to subside until the next reading.

Unfortunately, because of the high reading last Thursday Oct 15th (over 75), all games until the next reading on the 1st are cancelled. So, our next two weekend's games are cancelled.

It was pretty clear that games this weekend would be cancelled due to the current Covid numbers, but we were disappointed that the dashboard will now only be read twice a month. One reading effectively cancels more than one weekend. This process is still under review between WYS and the governor's office, so it could change.

We are still hopeful to get some games played this fall, but we are dependent on the Covid numbers. Your coaches should now be practicing under the Phase 2 protocols (refer to Return to Play page).
